New York families celebrate Father's Day in Queens

Dozens of Families arrived early to celebrate Parents’ Day at Flushing Meadows Corona Park.

Manuel Vargas maintains: “Every day is a parent’s day but this one is even more special.”

Some parents came to play soccer while others supported their children in the game.

César Tzul says:

“I thank God first of all because he gives wisdom to one because one does not know how to be a father because I grew up without a father all my life and we followed the path. I thank God very much. “

Cesar Tzul says that parents should be present in their children’s lives more than ever.

“They should put more effort into their children because the problem of many parents is that they think that they just have children and that’s it, not giving them money, you have to be with them all the time. She finished college last week at Columbia University and the other is studying at St John and thank God they are good kids and I am very proud of them,” says César Tzul.

Her daughter studied neuroscience and won a scholarship for her good grades.

“And I think that shows the deduction and effort that they have put into me,” he adds.

The first celebrations of this day in the United States date back to 1908 in West Virginia.

After an explosion in which several miners died, the daughter of one of the deceased, Grace Golden Clayton, asked to honor all the parents.

But it was not until June 19, 1910, that due to the efforts of Sonora Smart Dodd, a woman from Washington, they began to celebrate fathers every year but only in some states.

Father’s Day has been celebrated as a national holiday throughout the nation for 52 years.

Guillermo Andrade says that unlike Mother’s Day, fathers like to celebrate by sharing sports activities like this.

“We want to be on a football field as we have always been, our wives accompany us, our children accompany us and we enjoy, it is a way for us to enjoy.”

His son says he is very grateful to have a father who always supports him and has taught him good values.

“Yes, my dad has always supported me in everything and I thank him for it and I want to replicate everything he gave me.

has given,” says Guillermo Andrade Jr., proud of his father.

According to some parents, the celebration continues after the game with a barbecue at their homes.
