Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe has admitted he is a Marcus Thuram fan. Asked at a press conference that his player Allan Saint-Maximin had already spoken to Thuram about a theoretical move to the Magpies, Howe jokingly replied (quoted via ‘Goal.com’): “Well done, Maxi!”

The 45-year-old continued: “He’s a top player. But yeah, that’s all there is to it. I saw and watched him at the World Cup, of course, but that’s all.” Thuram will only be under Borussia Mönchengladbach until the summer of 2023, which is why the foals with the 25-year-old Frenchman could generate a fee for the last time in January.
