Earlier in the year, a person leaked images from the upcoming The Legend of Zelda: Tear of the Kingdom Collection Edition, an illustration book that was supposed to be launched in connection with the game’s release. The leak was via a Reddit post that has since been deleted, but images of the book are still circulating through social media. Nintendo is now trying to stop all possible leaks, but Discord in particular has not chosen to reveal who is spreading the images in private messages.

Although the images do not reveal anything significant regarding the story of the game, images were shared of weapons, characters and environments that Nintendo believes are damaging to the upcoming release of the game. On Friday, Nintendo filed a lawsuit against Discord to force them to release private information of users in Discord to hunt down these images and ensure that no more images can be leaked.

In the statement, you can read what information they are looking for:

“to disclose the identity, including the name(s), address(es), telephone number(s), and e-mail addresses(es) of the user Julien#2743, who is responsible for posting infringing content that appeared at the following channel Discord channel Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.”

Discord has issued warnings to those sharing the images and deleted the leaks in discussion groups, which is their duty under the law, but Nintendo doesn’t think that’s enough.

What do you think, should Discord release the information Nintendo is looking for?
