Do you know the story of the butterfly’s wing flap capable of causing a hurricane on the other side of the world? They call “Butterfly Effect” (or “Butterfly Effect”for English speakers) and Nintendo has unknowingly provided us with a tangible explanation of how it works.

In all likelihood no one in Kyoto imagined they could unleash a bomb threat across the Pacific Ocean announcing the February 2023 Nintendo Direct airing, yet it really happened. Yesterday, a student from the Fullerton branch of California State University sent an email to the professor asking him to cancel today’s lesson “for the good of humanity”as it would have occurred “a once in a lifetime event”

The student was just excited about the new Nintendo Direct, but the professor, evidently unaware of the thing, got scared and alerted the officers of the Police Department of the California State University of Fullerton (CSUF Police Department). Law enforcement, worry about a possible bomb explosion or shootingthey intervened immediately, but only “after hours of investigation” they discovered that the lesson coincided with the Nintendo Direct and that the alarm was caused by a misunderstanding, clearly triggered by the unfortunate words chosen by the student.

In a subsequent email, the student in question admitted to having made himself the author of “a joke in bad taste”However, out of an excess of caution, CSUF Police Department agents still decided to keep watch on the campus during Nintendo Direct hours. “Please know that we will do everything in our power to keep our campus community safe”they said in an official statement.

While we’re at it, we take the opportunity to remind you that the Nintendo Direct is scheduled to air 11.00 pm today 8 Februarybut our editorial team will be live on Everyeye’s Twitch channel as early as 10.30pm.
