Nintendo Switch is approaching its sixth year of life but, despite this, Nintendo’s hybrid console continues to break a large number of records. As seen in the last few days, in fact, Nintendo Switch is the best-selling console in the USA in 2022 and the success of the console continues not to stop, even among developers.

As shown by the latest analysis of the surveys of the Game Developers Conference, which conducted some analyzes relating to the serious phenomenon to be paid attention to the harassment perpetrated by gamers against developers, it would seem that among the ranks of team behind the creation of video games there is still a great interest in Nintendo Switch.

These would be the results obtained by a sample of over 2300 developers, whose percentages of developers working for an independent team or for a AAA team amounted to 39% and 23%, respectively. However, this is not the most interesting statistic collected during the GDC but rather the interest in developing games on the Nintendo Switch recorded by the data: as reported by the GDC, 35% of developers are interested in creating new projects on Nintendo Switch.

Although the data are consistent with the large amount of sales recorded by the same console, the general idea that sees Nintendo Switch no longer in step with the times leaves room for data that confirm the opposite. The same sample of developers has registered an interest of 46% for game creation on PlayStation 5 and 64% on PC. The 35% of game designers interested in creating products on the Grande N hybrid console are followed by a small percentage of people actually working on a project. In detail, 18% of those who are interested in creating new projects on Nintendo Switch would be making a game.
