At a time when we’ve only heard about absences and cancellations from E3 2023, we finally have good news for another important date when it comes to summer gaming events. Gamescom has just confirmed that Nintendo intends to participate in the fair in Cologne. The company has been absent since 2018, and we’re guessing they have good reason to set up their booth.

Most likely, it’s about presenting their titles in the second half of the year, after Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom cleaned house on the top charts. But there are those (including Jeff Grubb and Nikkei) who point out that the German fair would be the ideal environment to present the successor to the Switch.

We’ll have to wait until August 23rd to see what brought Nintendo back to Gamescom, and whatever it is, we can be pretty sure it’s going to be fun.
