MEXICO CITY (apro).- The still head of government, Claudia Sheinbaum, rejected that the former national president of Morena, Yeidckol Polevnsky, join the list of “corcholatas” of the party in search of the presidential candidacy in 2024.
“No, the president of the party already said it,” he responded bluntly to the press’s question about the resignation of the businesswoman from the federal deputation to sign up on the list of applicants.
By way of justification, he added: “Besides, this has been going on for a long time, right? The president of the party already said it yesterday, that what was voted in the Council, is what was voted in the Council”.
So far, of the six applicants considered by the National Council, five are men.
Sheinbaum Pardo has said several times that one of the advantages that leads her in the polls is that she is the only woman among the contenders. If Polevnsky is accepted, there would already be two applicants.
