“According to the district court’s assessment, the player, who was a so-called VIP customer of the company, played in a way that indicated that he had a gambling problem. However, it has not been considered sufficient to declare the gambling agreements invalid,” the district court writes in a press release.
“Jonas” from Uppsala county has testified that he gambled away almost five million kroner in just over three years.
– There was uncontrolled gambling at all hours of the day, every day of the week on all kinds of games. For example, I could bet 100,000 kroner on a bet at midnight on fourth division tennis in South America, says Jonas, whose real name is something else, to SVT.
He had demanded just over five million kroner in damages, but the district court thus rules in the company’s favor.
