oaxaca.- On his second day of tour of Oaxaca, Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard asked that the Morena candidate, chosen among the ‘corcholatas’, for the Presidency of the Republic 2024 be elected through a survey, not by “finger”.
In the Municipality of Tuxtepec, where he went to inaugurate an office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE), Ebrard said that the decision to elect one of the morenista ‘corcholatas’ must go with clear rules, as he has been insisting on. The last weeks.
“All of us who are close to him (President López Obrador) have an obligation to help and support so that things go well for you, especially for the years to come, according to a survey, because President Obrador said, the people are the ones who He has to choose who he follows, who is the one who follows, not by hand, the people, the people are the ones who must decide,” he said.
“I am very proud to be part of Andrés Manuel López Obrador’s team, I have been working with him for 23 years, there has never been a difference between him and me, because we comply with what we say, I was his successor and he did me the honor of inviting me to his Cabinet, I am the chancellor, I have to answer people like Senator Kennedy, who is not persona grata in Mexico, an ignorant and a liar, I just told him.”
Some supporters shouted in his favor.
“The people decide, Marcelo is the next one!” was heard.
Ebrard presumed that he meets daily with President López Obrador in the morning.
“I accompany him every day at 6 in the morning, tomorrow he brought him a message from Tuxtepec, what do you want me to tell him?” he asked those present.
“I send him the message, that they invite him here, so friends, friends, moving forward we are working so that all the programs that Andrés Manuel has put into practice are maintained and grow.”
Yesterday, the head of the SRE was also present in the municipalities of Huajuapan de León and Nochixtlán, where he stated that if there were a political line to choose the Morena candidate, the survey would be useless.
“Strategically, the president is strong, he holds an event and it’s over, you hold a meeting of delegates. So why polls, if the decision is his?
“If the argument we have is ‘Marcelo is the good one’ ‘it’s Claudia’, we are contradicting the spirit of the survey, it is not compatible. If it is Claudia, why do we do the survey?”, raised the chancellor.
A week ago, the national leadership of Morena asked the ‘corcholatas’, among which are also the Head of Government, Claudia Sheinbaum, and the head of the Interior, Adán Augusto López, to support the campaigns in Edomex and Coahuila, instead of ‘warm up’ by 2024.
