The president and his operators have shown what they are made of when things do not go as they want. Yesterday was another of many examples of anger, which seizes the president and those close to him, when control is lost, which could put his “national project” at risk, and what is in dispute for 2024. And is that, in recent months, anger has been on the surface, now directed against the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation. The reasons for the group in turn are clear, first for stopping the Plan B initiative, to reform the National Electoral Institute, later for the setback to the militarization project so that the National Guard would depend administratively and operationally on the Ministry of National Defense , and now, another blow, this time against the legislative management processes that were promoted last week in the chambers to go to steam, without discussion, deliberation and approval in commissions by members of congress.

Several of these initiatives encouraged by the executive, -among these, the disappearance of Conacyt, the centralization of purchases by the Ministry of Public Function, reform to the Airports and Civil Aviation Law, to the mining Law, among others- same as to say of the SCJN -which is not a derivative power- evidenced lack of capacity for deliberation and legislative discussion, elementary and necessary action, in a constitutional democracy, and elementary principle that sustains and protects all legal certainty contained in the Constitution.

Today, anger spreads like poison against the Supreme Court of Justice and against some of its members, who, above all, are there -most of them- to defend the most valuable thing we have, our constitutional guarantees, which go beyond a party project, the interests of a few, or beliefs -individual or collective-. Insulting, violating, insulting our institutions implies, in turn, that we directly disrespect ourselves, and this is what we witness every day in the political arena: insults, slander, negligence, and disqualifications, which are very dangerous, since they not only show an inability to manage, but also a constant lack of respect for us as citizens, who participate in a democracy, where the division and balance of powers has cost a lot of work, and history is there to remember it.

Let’s not confuse loyalties with capabilities. There may be very valid differences, but they cannot be soaked with slander and disqualifications, which, without foundation and dialogue, can lead to radicalization and serious damage. The executive, judicial and legislative powers have a primary responsibility that is owed and owed to us, and this part of respect, when it is dishonored, we all lose. It seems that this government in turn loses sight of the fact that it has stopped understanding the very reasons for its emancipatory struggles, which are ending up becoming narcissistic policies, which have blinded the fundamental needs of citizens from their agenda: security, health, education, and the ability to build a life without fear, full of opportunities not to submit, but to be able to decide, because being able to choose implies building opportunities, where we all have space, despite our perspectives and differences.
