Those responsible at Borussia Dortmund had expected more from Jayden Braaf’s commitment. “As of now, he hasn’t arrived yet, he’s not doing what we expect of him. […] In August I thought: Now he’s ready. I thought the same thing in September and October. The year is almost over now. Its development has not been satisfactory so far”Ingo Preuss told the ‘Ruhr Nachrichten’ in December.
The 64-year-old is team manager for BVB’s second team – Braaf has only been used for this team so far. The 20-year-old Dutchman has made a meager seven appearances in the third division since moving from Manchester City to BVB in the summer.
Wanted more match practice
It’s time for something to change, apparently the black and yellow think too. As reported by Transfermarkt insider Fabrizio Romano, the club are ready to loan out Braaf. Numerous clubs are interested in the offensive player. BVB’s goal is to help the 20-year-old get as much match practice as possible.
He doesn’t get it in Dortmund, especially since he’s not set in the second team either. Trainer Ingo Preuss recently told Ruhr Nachrichten: “I make no secret of the fact that we have expectations of him that he has not yet been able to fulfill because he is not yet physically ready.” While on loan, Braaf, whose contract runs until 2025, could work on that.
