Ocampo sisters announce conference

MIAMI.- On Saturday, July 6 at 8:30 pm, the writer Ana Schein will give the talk The Ocampo sistersdedicated to the life and work of Argentine authors Victoria and Silvina Ocampo. The conference is organized by the Cuatrogatos Foundation and Artefactus Cultural Center in collaboration with Trazos Culturales.

As part of the activity, texts by both creators will be read.

Born in Buenos Aires, sisters Victoria and Silvina Ocampo are two key figures in Argentine literature. Victoria Ocampo (1890-1979) founded and directed the magazine Sur, one of the most important cultural publications in Latin America in the 20th century.

Among his literary essays, it is worth highlighting Francesca a Beatrice, The woman and her expression y The beauty and her lovers. For her part, Silvina Ocampo (1909-1993) ventured into narrative, poetry, theater and essays. Her bibliography includes narrative titles such as Irene’s autobiography, The guests y The furyand poetry collections such as The names, The bitter for sweet y The sonnets of the garden.
