Official: Orjan Nylan, new Sevilla goalkeeper

Sevilla has reached an agreement for the incorporation for this season with the norwegian goalkeeper rjan Nyland (Volda, September 10, 1990). After training at Mork IL and Volda TI, at just 17 years old he signed for IL Hdd in the second category of his country, coming to play three games in the final part of that 2008 season. After two years without participation, in the In 2011 he took ownership and played 56 games between the league and a Norwegian Cup that he managed to lift in 2012, at only 22 years old and being the hero of the final, in which second-class Hdd beat Troms in the penalty shootout. This milestone allowed him to make the leap to Molde for the 2013 season, then current league champion, with whom he had already been on trial, as well as at Rosenborg and Everton.

Despite his youth, the enormous competition and the fact that he did not start out playing, Nyland did not take long to take ownership at Molde, which he would not lose until he left the team two and a half seasons later. He even made his debut in the Champions League qualifier shortly after arriving. In that period he allowed him to play 84 official matches, revalidate his status as Cup champion up to two times and also win the league trophy in 2014. After completing another half season in his country -the league is played in a calendar year-, in the summer of 2015 he signed for FC Ingolstadt 04, recently promoted to the Bundesliga. He plays 20 games in his first two seasons in Germany and becomes undisputed in his third, with 33 appearances between the 2. Bundesliga and the German Cup.

This good performance at Ingolstadt allows him to make the leap to England in 2018/19. Sign for Aston Villa FC, then in the Championship. He starts playing everything until an injury at Christmas leaves him in the dry dock for the rest of the year. With Villa back in the Premier and after playing a few games with the reserve team, he returned in November 2019 and ended up playing seven league games, four in the League Cup -he played the final losing to Manchester City- and one in the FA Cup. Although he plays a League Cup match at the beginning of the season, Nyland agrees to the termination of his contract in Birmingham and signs the second half of the 2020/21 campaign for Norwich City, with whom he does not make his official debut.

Already in 2021/22 he signs for Bournemouth, with whom he plays three games before resolving his contract in January. He closed the season at Reading, also in the Championship, with whom he signed for three months and played ten games until the end of the season. The Norwegian started without a team last 2022/23, which allowed him to be requested in October by RB Leipzig to fill the tab for Pter Gulcsi, long-term injured. He played two Bundesliga games and one in the German Cup, in the final of which his team beat Eintracht Frankfurt to win the title. As far as the selections chapter is concerned, Nyland is international with Norway in all categories. With the sub-21 he was runner-up in Europe in 2013 after losing the final against Spain. His senior debut was in a friendly against Scotland in November of that same year, when he was still playing for Molde. Since then He has accumulated 46 international caps, having started in the four games that Norway has played -all of them in the UEFA Nations League- so far in 2023.
