The creative process of a character is long, tedious and goes through many stages. This is why we constantly see different versions of our favorite heroes in the world of anime or comics that never came to light. Like the case of these Gohan illustrated by Akira Toriyama, who were going to be very different from the one we saw at the beginning of Dragon Ball Z.

Those who are in charge of designing, illustrating, and coloring the characters do a fair amount of drafting with options. They present them to the executives and together they reach an agreement for the ending that will appear in the series.

Gohan is no exception to the case and his different versions that could reach the series are very different, and in some brutal cases, to those we saw in Dragon Ball Z.

The website IGN Latam rescues a page in which all the versions made by Akira Toriyama appear. Among them, obviously, the Gohan who finally saw the light comes out.

Old sketches of Gohan made by Akira Toriyama

In the image revealed by the internal team of V-Jump magazine, Shueisha and all those who work with Akira Toriyama, the versions they handled for Gohan can be seen.

On the right side, the Japanese swordsman stands out, with the traditional kimono. While on the left you can see a ninja Gohan and another with a suit similar to the one used by Goku in winter battles, that is, all covered.

The Gohan in the baseball suit, including glove and cap, seems more like something alternative that at some point they will have managed to give Goku’s firstborn an activity.
