Oliver Stone prepares documentary about Lula in Cannes

CANNES.- American filmmaker Oliver Stone present out of competition at Cannes a documentary film about Brazilian president Luiz Incio Lula da Silvaannounced today -April 22- the contest, which also added several feature films in different sections.

Documentary history

Lula was in prison for almost 18 months, between 2018 and 2019, for a conviction for corruption within the framework of the Lava Jato operation. The Supreme Federal Court (STF) later annulled the convictions.

Stone has been a frequent visitor to the Cannes Festival, where he has presented several works.

The filming of this documentary about Lula lasted for months and Stone traveled with the veteran Brazilian politician, according to the author of JFK y Pelotn.

The 77th Cannes Film Festival takes place from May 14 to 25.
