The man was arrested on Thursday evening, the police told SVT.
– It was last night that we were able to arrest a young man. This young person has been arrested in his presence for some time so we have been tracking him. But yesterday we were able to arrest him, says Stockholm police spokesperson Carina Skagerlind.
At the moment, the police do not want to comment on how the arrest took place or where the person is from. Nor is his age mentioned other than “young man”.
But according to Carina Skagerling, the suspicions refer to her explosion that occurred in a stairwell in Rågsved during the night of New Year’s Eve.
– It applies to this explosion, she says.
“Several arrests we hope for”
The arrest takes place at the same time as several investigations are underway regarding the wave of shootings, explosions and bombings that have occurred in Stockholm in the past week. According to the police, more arrests may be made.
– In the many cases we have had since the weekend, we work actively in all investigations. We are hoping for several arrests, says Carina Skagerlind.
