The Argentine Government, through its Ministry of Foreign Relations, condemned the Russian invasion of Ukraine and demanded the cessation of hostilities, one year after the start of the war.

“One year after Russia’s invasion of Ukrainian territory, the Argentine Republic reiterates the urgent call for a cessation of hostilities and to return to the negotiating table, the only way to achieve lasting peace,” begins the statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. , International Trade and Worship released this Friday.

On this point, the national government called “avoid any action that could endanger nuclear facilities or those with radioactive material and expose the population to a future that is difficult to measure”.

Lastly, Argentina called for a “peaceful settlement of disputes” to put an end to the war between the Russians and the Ukrainians. Since Wednesday, representatives of dozens of countries have paraded through the UN rostrum to support Ukraine, whose Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba urged the world the day before to choose “between good and evil.”

The text, which is not binding, also urges the “cessation of hostilities” and “emphasizes the need to achieve a general, just and lasting peace in Ukraine as soon as possible, in accordance with the principles of the United Nations Charter.”
