What exactly does a mechanical engineer or electrical engineer do? How are plastic bottles, cable cars, fittings or lasers produced? What strengths are important for a career in the logistics or timber construction industry?

At the CHANCENTAGE in companies, more than 1,000 young people got answers to these and many other questions. On November 2nd and 3rd, 55 companies made it possible to get to know professions and thus made a valuable contribution to career orientation at 61 locations throughout Vorarlberg. “For Vorarlberg companies, the CHANCETAGE is a great opportunity to get in touch with young people at an early stage and to be able to present yourself to potential specialists,” says WKV Director Dr. Christoph Jenny on the great commitment of local companies.

Profession exploration

More than 1000 motivated pupils in the 8th and 9th grades from middle schools, high schools and polytechnic schools used their autumn holidays and school practical days to get a direct insight into top companies. During one or two days, the participants were able to lend a hand, manufacture workpieces, visit construction sites, produce their own products, carry out tests in the laboratory and much more.
