Juarez City.- Actor Pablo Lyle was sentenced to five years in state prison and eight years probation on the manslaughter charge he was found guilty of last October.

The verdict was announced by Judge Marisa Tinkler Mendez in Miami-Dade County and responds to a vehicular incident that occurred in 2019 in that city.

“I have considered all the elements, hundreds of pages of documents, I have listened to recordings, I have reviewed all the evidence presented, I have considered everything, everything that has been said in court.

“I don’t think this covers all the circumstances that the court itself has, this is an unfortunate example that has gone far and I believe that Mr. Lyle had a second chance and didn’t take it,” the judge said.

Lyle, 36, will also have to submit 100 hours of community service, as well as take conflict resolution and anger management classes.

However, Judge Marisa Tinkler gave him 30 days to file an appeal of the sentence.

Prior to reading the sentence, they issued some messages from Pablo Lyle’s sister, brother-in-law and wife, as well as himself, who addressed the deceased’s family for the first time.

“Every day I pray to God because I know this day was coming and I prayed that this day would bring you peace and no matter what happens today, you can walk out of this courthouse with peace in your heart.

“His relative lost his life because of something I did, something that will be with me, haunts me when I go to sleep at night and is still there when I wake up,” he said.

The 36-year-old actor paused several times as he addressed the widow and son of the deceased who were meters away from him.

“I never wanted this to happen, never in my wildest dreams did I imagine this to happen; that one life would be lost and many others drastically affected, in a few seconds with a single blow.

“I want to take this opportunity to reflect on the past, talk to you to tell you that I am very sorry from the bottom of my heart. I offer you the most sincere apology I have ever offered in my life,” he said.

Finally Lyle, who wore the characteristic orange suit and handcuffed, put his hands to his face to wipe away his tears.

“I want you to know that I had nothing against Mr. Hernández, I can say that I learned a very important and enormous lesson, and I am sure that many more will learn it, I know that you lost someone very important and I know that there is nothing to I can do to bring him back.

“I promise I will pray for him and for you. God bless you,” he concluded.

The lawyers also had a participation in whose arguments they asked for a considerable sentence, suggested one year and one day.

“He did not act like a criminal, a father trying to defend his family, instinct and no intent. This was an act of adrenaline, without premeditation.

“We urge that the sentence be one year and one day, it was three seconds in which his life changed,” requested Lyle’s defense.

The conviction came nearly four years after the actor was charged with manslaughter in the death of a man he struck in a car incident.

Two months ago, the magistrate rejected Lyle’s request for a new trial and upheld the guilty verdict handed down by a jury in October.

After a trial of just over a week, the soap opera actor was convicted of involuntary manslaughter for the death of Juan Ricardo Hernández, a 63-year-old man of Cuban origin with whom he had an altercation near the Miami airport.

The actor punched Hernández, who died four days later at a hospital from a brain injury. The incident was recorded on security cameras.
