Mexico City.- With a surprising somersault in the eighth inning, the San Diego Padres took the second game of the 2023 Mexico Series by defeating the San Francisco Giants 6-4.

In front of a fiery crowd, mostly cheering on the Frailes, gathered at the Alfredo Harp Helú Stadium in Mexico City, the San Diego team scored three runs with four outs to go, which caused an uproar from the public in the stands.

A fly ball behind the box by Matt Carpenter with which he brought his teammates Xander Bogaerts and Jake Cronenworth, who had already driven Juan Soto, to the register to put the final score.

San Francisco’s ninth went ahead very early on the scoreboard with two home runs, one by LaMonte Wade Jr. in the first inning, and another by JD Davis in the second.

The control of pitcher Alex Cobb helped the Giants to take the score, but the relief did not help, because in the eighth the comeback of the victors came.

The other home run by those from Bahía, Mitch Haniger’s in the fourth, didn’t help much, as the Padres woke up in time to win the game and the first Mexico Series of the regular season in Mexico City.

For San Diego, Austin Nola blew it away, in the fifth inning.

The losing pitcher was Tyler Rogers, while the winning pitcher was Luis Garcia, with a save by Josh Hader.
