If it were not for the sympathy shown by the hegemonic media with the ideology of Lacalle Pou -one of the few right-wing governments in the region-, one would speak of a scandalous management.
It is that the Uruguayan president already lived in his administration:
-Arrest of the head of his custodian for forgery of passports
-He used an exceptional decree to let his hair doctor in in the middle of a pandemic
-They discovered the play of Lacalle Pou who tried days after leaving the presidency of Mercosur to harm the bloc
-The Villa Española club intervened for “doing politics”
-He came to Argentina to celebrate the independence of Uruguay with our opposition
Now this was added: the resignation of his minister Adrián Peña after it became known that he did not have a degree in Business Administration from the Catholic University of Uruguay, a degree he held for years but only obtained in 2022 when he submitted his thesis.
Peña himself acknowledged it to journalists when making the announcement: “The mistake was the one I recognized, which I regretted and apologized for. It has to do with lying about that title for a while.”.
What did President Lacalle Pou say about the scandal? That he “values, understands and shares” the decision of the now ex-minister.
