There will be no second pipeline to transport oil from the port of Rostock to the refinery PCK in Schwedt. According to PCK, this was decided by the Federal Ministry of Economics. Several media had previously reported.
“Instead, the existing pipeline is to be upgraded. We regret this decision,” the refinery said. Brandenburg’s Economics Minister Jörg Steinbach (SPD) called for speedy planning for upgrading the existing pipeline.
According to the will of the federal government, no Russian oil has been coming to PCK in Brandenburg via the Druzhba pipeline since the turn of the year. Alternatively, crude oil initially flows via the port of Rostock. In addition, oil is to come via Gdansk and also from Kazakhstan. (dpa)
