Despite the countless irregularities and obstacles imposed by the Nicolás Maduro regime to prevent transparent elections, the Venezuelan opposition, led by María Corina Machado, “managed to stay in the race with an extraordinary sense of resilience and on July 28 obtained a resounding victory. For a fraud that was already planned, the way in which the regime executed the phase was truly shameless.”
The opposition, with María Corina Machado at the helm, has protected itself, the report states. Its strategies, certainty and confidence have managed to reach every Venezuelan home. Citizens believe in the project proposed by the Creole leader, as she has given clear answers to the silence and divisionism that has accompanied the opposition for so many years.
Long before the July 28 election, there were already signs of electoral fraud. Insight Político lists some: “The dismissal of the main directors of the National Electoral Council, despite the fact that their mandate had not expired, the confiscation of the right to vote of the enormous Venezuelan diaspora, the impossibility of the opposition to select the candidate of its choice, which was María Corina Machado, and all the opportunism and persecution experienced by the democratic factors during the electoral campaign” were breeding grounds for the Venezuelan presidential elections.
Once the citizen voting process was over, the president of the National Electoral Council dared to announce Nicolás Maduro as the winner. Despite not being an irreversible result and not having the minutes, which, almost 7 days from the day, are still missing.
As expected, the opposition did not accept the fraudulent result and has since been collecting the missing voting records, of which they have already made over 80% available via a website.
The great strategy of Maria Corina Machado
For the first time in 25 years, the opposition has shown solid strategies that demonstrate its clear advantage over the regime. “Henrique Capriles Radonski (two-time presidential candidate) has still not explained his actions after the announcement of the 2013 results. In his defense, he clarifies that he did not want to provoke a massacre,” the text warns.
Another example was the failure of Juan Guaidó’s “interim government.” “But one factor that influenced the collapse of that proposal was time. Something that was created to obtain an immediate victory, awakening the hope of millions of Venezuelans, ended up floating aimlessly in the ether. The failed April 30, 2019 marked its end, but the opposition carried that unburied corpse until 2022.”
“People trust Maria Corina for her courage and also for her strategic ability. Without the need for a call from the leadership, thousands took to the streets to express their indignation and denounce the fraud perpetrated by the regime. Repression was unleashed immediately,” the analysis states.
