Physical game sales fell by ten percent in the UK last year

Sales figures from the UK can usually show how it looks in the rest of Europe and the latest statistics are not particularly promising for physical sales. God of War: Ragnarök was the best-selling game in the last week of the year despite a drop of 29% (unfortunately, no exact figures were given by gamesindustry.biz) compared to Christmas week. It was still an extremely small drop compared to other games. FIFA 23 was second on the list, but fell 65%. Mario Kart 8: Deluxe moved up to third place, but still sold 40% less than the previous week. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 fell two places to number four with a 64% decrease. Looking at the whole year, physical game sales fell by ten percent in 2022 compared to 2021.
