As you know, Sony has acquired quite a few developers for its Playstation Studio lineup over the past few years, perhaps the most notable of these being the purchase of Bungie last year. Now, however, they are losing one and it is PixelOpus who are best known for the cozy game Concrete Genie which was released in 2019.

The studio announced the news via its official Twitter:
“Our PixelOpus adventure has come to an end. As we look to new futures, we wanted to say a heartfelt thank you to the millions of passionate players who have supported us, and our mission to make beautiful, imaginative games with heart.”

PixelOpus was founded in 2014 and after the release of Concrete Genie announced that it was working on an “exciting project for Playstation 5”. It now doesn’t look like it will go away and maybe we’ll never know what kind of project it was, we don’t know at the time of writing if it will be taken over by another developer. Sony themselves have not yet confirmed the news but it is likely only a matter of time.

Concrete Genie was released in 2019 and was PixelOpus’ last game.
