News arrives for the players of the cards of Pokemonand it is that, after showing the new type of card in the Pokémon World Championship last year, pokemon company has officially unveiled the new EX and Tera mechanics that will arrive in the Scarlet and Purple expansion of the Pokemon Trading Card Game in March.

The expansion Pokémon TCG Scarlet and Violet will reintroduce Pokémon EX in the game, which has not been seen since the Sun and Moon expansion series, however, there will be two major changes this time around. First, where only basic Pokémon were Pokémon EX before, Pokémon EX in scarlet and purple can be a basic Pokémon, a stage one evolution, or a stage two evolution.

The second major change is the debut of Tera Pokemon EX, which is based on the Terastallizing mechanic from the Scarlet and Violet games. Tera Pokemon EX works the same as EX Pokemon, but with the added bonus of being unable to take damage while on the bench. Being able to attack benched Pokemon is a primary strategy of current top-tier competitive Pokemon decks (Chilling Reign’s Inteleon is a good example), so Tera Pokemon EX being protected from this will be a new angle to consider for future competitions.

Pre-orders for the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet TCG set are live now on the Pokemon Center website, featuring Koraidon and Miraidon-themed Elite Trainer Boxes, booster display boxes, and six-pack booster packs.

Pre-orders will also receive a promo card lechonk free with purchase. The Pokémon TCG Scarlet and Violet expansion will be released at the end of March 2023. It follows Crown Zenith, the final expansion for Sword and Shield, which will be released on January 20.
