A suspect is in custody after a police chase and a crash that caused the alleged theft of a vehicle, this Thursday in the city of Doral.
The suspect was identified driving a stolen black Audi brand car, while traveling on Northwest 36th Street (NW), Doral police reported.
When an officer attempted to make a traffic stop, the suspect rammed the police car and fled the scene, prompting police pursuit, according to the report.
Police said the chase culminated when the suspect collided at the intersection of 36th Street and 87th Avenue NW and took off running on foot toward the Trump National Doral Resort.
After minutes of searching by numerous officers, the suspect was apprehended and taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital for a medical check-up. The subject will now face numerous charges, according to police.
The driver of a vehicle struck by the suspect was checked by Miami-Dade fire personnel.
