A Connecticut State Police officer was injured after a vehicle struck her car while investigating a separate accident on Interstate 84 east in Hartford on Sunday morning.
The officer was investigating a crash on I-84 East near exit 50 around 7 am She was sitting in her police car with her emergency lights on in the right lane. She was parked behind a vehicle that was involved in a previous accident.
According to investigators, a red Subaru traveling eastbound was coming around the curve near exit 50 and struck the rear of the police car.
Authorities said the impact of the Subaru hitting the police car caused the police car to also strike the vehicle in front of it.
The police were taken to the hospital to be treated for their injuries. The severity of those injuries is unclear at this time.
No other injuries were reported.
