Berlin
The Berlin Zoo and Tierpark are also affected by higher prices. For this reason, some day tickets are significantly more expensive.

Visiting the zoo in Berlin is becoming more expensive for some guests. The price increases affect selected day tickets for the zoo, aquarium and animal park, as announced by the institutions. Admission to the zoo for adults will cost 19 euros online and 20 euros on site, according to a spokeswoman. 17.50 euros would still be due by the end of March.

The cost of a zoo children’s ticket (9 euros) remains stable if you book online. In the reduced category, it remains at 12 euros for a day ticket.

For the slightly cheaper day tickets for the zoo in Friedrichsfelde, the prices for online purchases increase by 1.50 euros for adults and 0.50 cents for children, as it was said.

The zoo justified the price increases with the general “cost explosion”, for example for energy, building materials, services and animal feed. “We want to continue to be a destination that is there for everyone,” said zoo director Andreas Knieriem, according to the announcement, with a view to the only partial price increase. Among other things, the annual tickets would not be more expensive.

The reason for the different prices online and on site is that the zoo wants to counteract long queues at the cash registers, for example during holiday periods and at weekends. When buying tickets on site, a service fee of 50 cents for children and one euro for adult day tickets will be charged, the spokeswoman said.
