MIAMI.- The popular Powerball and Mega Millions lotteries, which draw millions of dollars every week, continue to reach impressive figures in their big prizes, which with a little luck, can make anyone who buys a ticket a millionaire.
The accumulated jackpot of Powerball, one of the most recognized lotteries in the United States, rose to the attractive amount of more than 131 million dollars, after no player obtained the ticket with the winning combination in Saturday’s edition.
The winning numbers in the Powerball drawing held last Saturday, May 25, were: 06, 33, 35, 36 and 64, with the red Powerball 24 and a 3x Power Play multiplier.
The Powerball jackpot will be drawn this Monday night, May 27 at 10:59 p.m. (Eastern Time).
If they win, the player can choose an annual payment for 29 years, which increases 5% each year, or take $61.2 million in cash at the time of withdrawing the prize.
How to play Powerball?
Powerball is held three times a week every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday in 45 US states, Washington DC, the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.
To participate in the drawing, players must purchase a ticket for $2 and select five numbers between 1 and 69 for the white balls. Next, they must choose a number between 1 and 26 for the red Powerball.
Additionally, you can increase your winnings by paying an extra dollar to add the Power Play feature, thus multiplying your winnings at different levels of the game.
The Powerball jackpot continues to grow until someone manages to match the winning numbers. There are nine ways to win Powerball prizes, but the big jackpot is won by matching all five white balls in any order along with the red Powerball.
Mega Millions
For its part, the Mega Millions lottery also presents million-dollar figures. After no one matched all six numbers in this Friday’s drawing, the lottery published that its jackpot amounted to $453 million for the next drawing, which will take place this Tuesday, May 28.
If you choose to claim immediate payment, the winner will have the chance to take home $226.4 million in cash.
In the drawing on Friday, May 24, the winning numbers were: 46, 54, 56, 67, 70, with the golden Mega Ball 16.
How to win the Mega Millions prize?
To win the Mega Millions, participants must choose six numbers, five numbers from 1 to 70 and one number from 1 to 25. To win the jackpot, they must match the six numbers that appear on the white balls and the gold ball. However, players with fewer hits can receive from 2 to 1 million dollars.
Mega Millions is played in 45 US states, as well as Washington, DC and the US Virgin Islands. Drawings take place on Tuesdays and Fridays starting at 11:00 PM EST.
