President Zelensky will visit Spain to meet with King Felipe VI

MADRID.- The president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskywill make an official visit to Madrid on May 17, the Spanish Royal Family announced on Tuesday.

Zelensky will be received at noon by the king Felipe VI before an official lunch in his honor at the Royal Palace of Madrid, according to the agenda of the Royal Family.

According to the newspaper El País, during the visit of the Ukrainian president an agreement will be signed to guarantee military support from Madrid to Kiev.

Ukraine has already signed bilateral security agreements with France, Germany and the United Kingdom, and the agreement with Madrid would be signed in the midst of a Russian offensive in the northeast of the country that caused the evacuation of thousands of people.

In the latest announcement on military aid to kyiv, Spain decided at the end of April to send missiles for the Patriot air defense systems.
