Prime Video: this series beats The Rings of Power and is one of the most viewed in 2022

Among the top 15 most viewed series in 2022 on all streaming platforms in the United States, two are original Prime Video content! As surprising as it may seem, Rings of Power was overtaken by this other very popular program.

Nielsen has just conducted a study to determine which series, all platforms combined, were the most viewed in 2022 across the Atlantic. Netflix proves its power once again, by posting thirteen of his fictions on the fifteen places available in the ranking. Fortunately, Prime Video saves its honor thanks to two of its very popular programs: Rings of Powerspin-off of the films The Lord of the Ringsand… The Boys, the series inspired by comics showrun by Eric Kripke. Fiction focused on totally crazy superheroes who think of everything but to do good around them came in at 11th place in the ranking, while Rings of Power clinched 15th and final place. The hearings of The Boys are therefore slightly ahead of the fantastic series: Eric Kripke’s project has counted 10.6 billion views, compared to 9.4 billion for the movies spinoff The Lord of the Rings. The Boys is therefore the most popular superhero seriesfar ahead of Disney+ productions.

The Boys vs The Rings of Power : how can these figures be explained?

If many wonder how The Boys was able to dethrone Rings of Power in 2022, the answer certainly lies in the number of episodes available on the Prime Video catalog. Indeed, Eric Kripke’s series appeared on the streaming platform in 2019, with eight first episodes. Season 2 of The Boys then offered fans eight more to binge-watch while eight new ones were born in 2022. Subscribers therefore had more content to watch, while Rings of Power currently only includes one season. The place of the spin-off in the ranking is therefore set to change next year!
