No clairvoyant abilities were needed to see his outsider role. Prince Harry looked lost at his father’s coronation. Did that pity you?
He entered Westminster Abbey alone, no close family members to be seen. His brother, his wife Kate and their three children George, Charlotte and Louis were waiting in front of the church, father Charles came to the service in a carriage with stepmother Camilla. After the death of his grandparents Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, as well as his “Megxit” and the subsequent allegations against the palace, Prince Harry’s role as an outcast is clearly noticeable.
This was also evident after the coronation ceremony: Harry cannot be seen in any of the official pictures that the palace gave to the public. No part of the staging on the palace balcony, no membership in the circle of coronation photos: the isolation of the youngest king’s son seems to be a done deal.
“Yesterday meant so much to me”
But Princess Eugenie didn’t seem to care – maybe she even felt a little sorry for her cousin? After all, the relationship between the two seems to be good, in Harry’s memoirs many members of the royal family come off badly, Eugenie not. She is not mentioned with a bad syllable.
In any case, the currently pregnant 33-year-old was very moved about her participation in the coronation ceremony. Posting a series of pictures on Instagram, Prince Andrew’s daughter wrote: “Yesterday meant so much to me – and I’m sure so did so many who watched. What a magical celebration for the King, Queen, our country and the Commonwealth.”
In the comments of the post, many observers are particularly happy about certain photos. In addition to Eugenie, her husband, Jack Brooksbank, and her sister, Princess Beatrice, and her husband, Prince Harry can also be seen in several pictures from Westminster Abbey.
“I am very pleased that you locked Harry in”
“I’m delighted that you included Harry in the photos you chose,” one Instagram user wrote in the comments. Additional comments expressed appreciation for Eugenie’s support for Prince Harry and his family. Because the fans did not miss what was noticed in the pictures after the coronation: Harry did not play a role in any of the other royals.
Harry himself also approached the coronation as pragmatically as possible and was only there for the most necessary part of the ceremony, steaming off again immediately after the service. The 38-year-old has been living in the USA with his wife, Duchess Meghan and their children Archie and Lilibet since 2020. His son celebrated his fourth birthday on the day of the coronation. Harry had therefore traveled to Great Britain alone, in London’s Westminster Abbey he sat in the third row with his cousins and their husbands – two rows behind his brother William.
