After an extended period of criticism, it caught on the Norwegian royal house in November 2022 a decisive decision: Princess Märtha Louise no longer represents the royal house through official assignments.
A contributing factor to the princess losing her duties is controversial statements made by her fiancé. Princess Märtha Louise and her fiance the shaman Durek Verrett have, among other things, been criticized for having mixed up their commercial interests with royal missions. For example, they did a tour together that went under the title “The Princess and the Shaman”.
“Everything is taken out of context”
Princess Märtha Louise thinks that the fiancé has been misinterpreted in the media and that the quotes have been taken out of context. She also asks the rhetorical question if it would have been the same if she were a man, and then refers to whether her position had been affected as much by media storms surrounding her partner.
Could it be that you regain your assignments later in life?
– If it turns out that way, I’ll say yes to it.
