The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, affirmed this Friday, January 27, 2023, that our country will continue to ensure all the conditions and all the means to promote investment and to improve the business climate for the benefit of Algerian or foreign investors. .

On the sidelines of the opening of the international seminar on “The role of the lawyer in supporting investment and settling disputes”, the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, assured that “investment, internal or external, was one of Algeria’s strategic priorities”. And this, “within the framework of the new orientation adopted by the State in the face of the demands of development and the global changes which have a direct impact on the economies of the countries”.

Indeed, in a letter read on his behalf by the adviser to the President of the Republic in charge of legal and judicial affairs, Boualem Boualem, the Head of State indicated that “economic operators, Algerian or foreign, must have the conviction that Algeria is working and will continue to work in order to provide all the necessary foundations to support investment”. But also, “in order to improve and protect the business climate from any obstacle or constraint that may hinder the activity of investors in our country”.

In his letter, the President of the Republic did not fail to recall the fact that “the Constitution of November 2020 had granted an important place to investment for the achievement of development objectives and the diversification of the national economy in ensuring its sustainability.

To this end, President Tebboune shed light on “the importance of the reforms undertaken by the State to support investment at the legislative, organizational, administrative and institutional levels. Particularly in the sectors of finance, banking, industry and agriculture”.

And this, “in order to improve the investment climate and strengthen its attractiveness, in particular after the crystallization of the forward-looking vision of the national economy through the Constitution of November 2020 which enshrines the freedom of investment, trade and entrepreneurship”.

In the same vein, it should be noted that the adviser to the President of the Republic in charge of legal and judicial affairs, Boualem Boualem, read President Tebboune’s letter this Friday, January 27, 2023, in the presence of the Prime Minister, Aïmene Benabderrahmane. On the sidelines of the opening of the international seminar on “The role of the lawyer in supporting investment and settling disputes”.

Moreover, this international meeting will be spread over two days, during which the participants will examine a series of areas, such as investment, energy and competition. Or, case law in the field of investment and the settlement of disputes relating to investment. As well as investment in regional free trade areas and the new legal framework governing investment in Algeria as well as the related implementing texts.

In addition, it should also be noted that it was the National Union of Bar Associations (UNOA) that organized this international meeting, in partnership with the Ministry of Justice and in cooperation with the International Union of Lawyers.
