Miami authorities arrested a 30-year-old man nearly five years after he allegedly shot a woman during a marijuana transaction in southwest Miami. Miami-Dade.
The incident took place on the afternoon of July 7, 2018, in the 18000 block of Southwest 357th Street. The suspect, identified as René Reyna, allegedly met the victim and shot him once in the left shoulder. He then took the keys to her vehicle by force and fled the scene, according to the police report.
Miami-Dade police said the victim was able to identify Reyna to detectives through a photograph, they reported. Local 10 News.
After going to a police station on Wednesday and requesting a background check, Reyna was taken into custody.
During the arrest, after being read his rights, Reyna allegedly told detectives that he just wanted to be booked.
Reyna was transferred to Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center and faces charges of armed robbery and attempted murder. So far, he is being held without the possibility of bail and awaits his appearance in court.
