For a strange joke of the calendar, the day that marks the arrival of PlayStation VR2 on the market is also celebrated11th birthday of PS Vita. With Sony busy promoting the new PS5 Virtual Reality viewer, only Ubisoft has taken care to pay homage to the unfortunate portable console.

Through its social profiles, the French publisher has in fact recalled its commitment to support the ‘older sister’ of PSP by showing images of three of the many portings developed for PS Vita, in this case Assassin’s Creed 3 Liberation, Rayman Origins and Child of Light.

In addressing video game enthusiasts, Ubisoft then explained that “PS Vita just turned 11! What are your best memories with this portable bad boy?”. To be honest, Bend Studio also wanted to remember the birthday of PlayStation Vita, except however to focus almost exclusively on the launch of Uncharted Golden Abyss with a thank you to all those who supported their work by playing Nathan Drake’s adventure on the Sony portable console.

He also participated in the waltz of ironic posts shared on social media by the community for SIE’s failure to pay tribute to PS Vita Matt Piscatella: the well-known gaming analyst took a cue from the Bend Studio message to sarcastically explain that “well, at least PlayStation VR2 and PS Vita share a birthday”. Before leaving you to the comments, we invite you to read our special on PlayStation Vita, the strengths and weaknesses of an unfortunate console.
