Baghdad Bounedjah has been very efficient in front of the woods since the start of 2023. Better still, he has just broken a new record with his Al-Sadd team.
Al-Sadd played in the Emir Cup semi-final match against Al-Shahaniya yesterday. Unsurprisingly, Baghdad Bounedjah was lined up among the starting XI.
The Algerian international striker has once again struck. Indeed, he was the author of a double during the last minutes of the match (88′ and 90+4′). Thus, he will have contributed to the qualification of his team for the final of the competition, in a match where it won without forcing on a final score of five goals to one.
The Oranais has therefore displayed great efficiency in front of the woods since the start of 2023. He was rewarded by a return to the national team during the last training camp in March. Better, Baghdad has just broken a new record. the prolific Al Sadd striker has also exceeded the 200-goal mark with the club since his arrival in 2015. With 137 goals in the Qatar Stars League and 63 goals in other Cups and competitions. A record that will be hard to beat by another striker in the future.

“I hope to score as many goals as possible in the future”
Baghdad Bounedjah gave his impressions to the microphone of the Qatari sports channel “Al-Kass” after the match against Al-Shahaniya. He talks about his team’s qualification for the Emir Cup final. He says he is happy to pass the 200-goal mark with Al-Sadd.
“It was difficult against a tough team that has already posed difficulties for Al-Gharafah and Al-Wakrah. Fortunately, we were able to manage the match. We are happy with the qualification and we hope to win the trophy”. He will say straight away.
And to add: “Thank God, I exceeded the bar of 200 goals with Al-Sadd. It’s an individual achievement, of course, but the credit also goes to my teammates. I hope to score more goals in the future”.
