Artistic exchange between Lichtenberg and the French city of Die: In 2022, the queer artist duo Véra (&) Léon and the artist Ella Ziegler took part in the exchange program “DIeresidenz” between the Lichtenberg Studios and the French city of Die. The works she created can be seen in the exhibition “Berlin-DIEresidenz 2022” in the Museum Lounge of the Museum Lichtenberg until March 26, 2023.

  • The exhibition can be visited Tue-Thu 11am-7pm, Fri 11am-6pm and Sun 2pm-6pm. The museum is located at Türrschmidtstraße 24.

Véra (&) Léon kept the poetic diary “JOURNAL OF AN IMPOSSIBLE INQUIRY”. It emerged as an echo of a visual narrative that questions the ever-changing urbanity of Berlin. The photographs from the archive of the Museum Lichtenberg used as a background form a parallel world to the mental images that the diary evokes. The works oscillate between past and present, but also between the city’s sensitive and political experiences.

Ella Ziegler was particularly concerned with the perception of the landscape and its physical phenomena and conditions in and around the city of Die. It was about the echo, the light, the rock face as a projection and reflection surface for sunlight and sound, the idea that this landscape was formed by water movements, faults and folds.

Since 2018 there has been a cooperation between the Lichtenberg Studios and the DIEresidenz, a house near the French city of Die, owned by the curator Conny Becker. A granny flat and a studio are available for the residents.
