Mexico City.- An icy wave over a large part of the country will prevail due to cold front number 19 and its arctic air mass, for which reason heavy rains and sleet or snow fall are expected in different entities, reported the National Meteorological Service.
In addition, there will be a very strong to intense North event with high waves on the Gulf of Mexico coast and the Yucatan Peninsula, as well as the Isthmus and Gulf of Tehuantepec.
Minimum temperatures of -15 to -10 °C with frosts are expected in mountainous areas of Chihuahua, Durango, Coahuila and Nuevo León.
While there will be minimum temperatures of -10 to -5 °C with frost in mountainous areas of Zacatecas, San Luis Potosí and Tamaulipas.
As well as minimum temperatures of -5 to 0 °C with frost in mountainous areas of Sonora, Aguascalientes, Jalisco, Michoacán, State of Mexico, Mexico City, Guanajuato, Querétaro, Hidalgo, Tlaxcala, Puebla and Veracruz.
There will be minimum temperatures of 0 to 5 °C with possible frosts with mountainous areas of Baja California, Sinaloa, Nayarit, Morelos, Oaxaca and Chiapas.
According to the report, heavy rains are expected in Veracruz, Tabasco, Chiapas, Campeche, Yucatán and Quintana Roo; and very strong in Oaxaca.
The probability of sleet or snow falling will persist with the possible formation of fog or mist banks in high areas of the center and east of the country such as Querétaro, Hidalgo, the State of Mexico, Mexico City, Tlaxcala, Puebla and Veracruz.
