Razer unveiled at CES 2023 its new soundbar dedicated to PCs, the Leviathan V2 Pro. It has a big particularity: it tracks the movements of your head.

Today, PC monitors have essentially become small televisions. When they are not literally more powerful than the big TV installed in the living room, like the latest Alienware productions which already highlight the QLED.

Also, it is not surprising that audio solutions for PC evolve following the same trend, namely: choose the soundbar, for its smaller size. If Razer has not quite convinced with its first proposals, the Leviathan V2 Pro freshly unveiled at CES 2023 has something to turn heads. Literally.

3D audio thanks to head tracking

Razer’s new soundbar does indeed have a big trick up its sleeve. In the Pro model, it now incorporates 3D sensors allowing it to define the position of your face in space. Subsequently, thanks to the combination of technologies from THX, owned by Razer, and Audioscenic, an English audio player specialized in beamformingthe soundbar will be able to adapt its 3D emulation to your position in space to offer the best spatial rendering possible.

It is true that to have a truly spatialized sound, several challenges arise when you do not place tons of speakers in your home. It is necessary to be able to accurately establish the position of all objects and people in a room, so as to optimize the rebound of the signals so that they can truly transcribe a scene in 3D. With this 3D camera, the Razer Leviathan V2 Pro may well have found a great solution for a soundbar resting as close to its subject as it will be, since it’s intended to stand just below your PC screen.

Two modes of use will be offered with the Razer Leviathan V2 Pro. The first, “THX Spatial Audio Virtual Headset”, will allow you to enjoy a stereo source with added spatialization to properly separate the frequencies. The second, “THX Spatial Audio Virtual Speakers”, will allow you to take advantage of your multi-channel sources in such a way as to find a truly spatialized experience. Very nice promises, but which will be difficult to believe until we have tested the product: fortunately, it is well planned. So stay with us in the coming weeks.

The Razer Leviathan V2 Pro will be made available for purchase during the month of February 2023. It will be sold no less than €489.99but the pleasure of having LEDs and three snakes has a cost that reason ignores.
