Reacting to Prince Harry’s new revelations: – Throwing him under the bus

In his new autobiography “Spare”, Britain’s Prince Harry tells of a confrontation with his brother, Prince William in 2019.

Here he claims that his brother allegedly attacked him physically, which is said to have led to visible injuries to his back.

As well as allegedly calling Harry’s wife, Duchess Meghan, too difficult, rude and insensitive. The Guardian writes that.

It can possibly be explained by the fact that Meghan did not feel enlightened enough, something that has come to light recently, including in the Netflix documentary “Harry and Meghan”.

The incident described in the book has caused several people to react.

– Hard to know

TV 2’s royal house expert, Ole-Jørgen Schulsrud-Hansen, believes that it is not inconceivable that this attack has occurred, but that it is a complicated situation.

– It could very well have happened in a situation with a lot of frustration, as there has certainly been in the run-up to Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan withdrawing from the British royal house.

– But when they make such accusations against someone who cannot speak out, it is difficult for us around to know what to believe.

Throwing William under the bus

In January 2020, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan stepped down from their duties in the British Royal House. One of the reasons for this was enormous pressure from the British media.

– The criticism directed at the prince couple is precisely that they withdrew to avoid the press, now they are selling themselves to the media in order to be able to live as they have done in the past. Then they simply throw Prince Harry’s brother under the bus, says Schulsrud-Hansen.

Strengthens the royal house

The royal house expert believes that the story that emerges in Harry’s autobiography will strengthen the royal house, rather than weaken the institution and the British relationship with it.

– I probably think that much of what is happening around the situation with Prince Harry probably only strengthens the royal house. Because here he is simply betraying the institution he should have worked for, he explains.

Furthermore, Schulsrud-Hansen says that Prince Harry was previously seen as a golden boy by the British, who was excused the times he stepped wrong. That seems to have changed.

– The British would probably rather support Prince William in the whole thing than Prince Harry. That may have changed a bit lately, with this documentary coming out in December, the Oprah interview in 2021 and now this book.

Thinks Harry failed

In the book, Harry claims that William called his wife, Meghan, difficult, rude and insensitive.

– If there is a man who was responsible for her entrance into this institution being as easy as possible, then it was Prince Harry.

Schulsrud-Hansen, on the other hand, believes that it was actually Prince Harry himself who was responsible for helping her.

– When it emerges in the documentary that Meghan had not even been told how to say no to the Queen, I would rather claim that it is Prince Harry who falls short in training than it is Meghan who falls short in the measure of learning , explains Schulsrud-Hansen.

Weakens family relationships

UK expert, Erik Mustad, believes that Prince Harry’s relationship with his family has weakened to a great extent.

– Unfortunately, it looks like this. That Harry is in pain and difficult and thinks this has been a difficult process with a lot of emotions, absolutely. This is Harry’s version of these episodes and then it will be difficult for the monarchy to retaliate here.

In the past, Prince Harry has stated that he wants a father and a brother, but without being part of an institution.

– The British monarchy is an institution that consists of the father and the brother, so it becomes difficult when he thinks that he only wants a brother and a father, because it is the king and the heir to the throne that are in question.
