Rebecca’s four-year-old son Ben had been looking forward to the trip to the water works for weeks. But the day before the news came that he was not allowed to come along.
– I felt that was not okay, she says.
She emphasizes that it is not about a lack of skills at the preschool.
– The staff do an incredible job, but they need to get enough staff to take care of all the children.
“It is regrettable”
Maria Ahlgren is the principal at Gudrun’s preschool where Ben is a student. She says that she has not been able to comment on individual cases, but that this is the first time that something like this has happened.
– It is extremely regrettable that it has turned out this way, says Maria Ahlgren.
What can you as the principal of the preschool do in a case like this?
– As principal, I have a responsibility to meet the needs of all children, and then I can deploy substitutes and resource persons.
So why was it not possible to appoint a substitute in this case?
– I absolutely cannot comment on that because this is an individual matter.
