A couple of young Cubans, recently arrived in the United States, were arrested in Miami on charges of selling hallucinogenic drugs.

The Cubans Christopher Torres (26 years old) and Merilyn Ponce (20 years old) had only been living in the United States for three months when they were detained by the police for their alleged involvement in the illegal sale of drugs.

Both had to appear at a hearing of the Miami-Dade courtaccused of possession and distribution of hallucinogenic substances.

America TeVé reported that the authorities detailed in the indictment that the young Cubans operated the sale of hallucinogenic drugs in the back of a tobacco store at number 2199 20th Street in northwest Miami.

The premises were intervened by the Miami-Dade police. They confiscated 1,330 grams of hallucinogenic mushrooms, about 1,570 grams of marijuana, and objects intended for drug consumption.
