Bad news for all Parisians who own an electric car or motorcycle. Bélib’ has just announced an overall increase in its prices, implemented since the beginning of the week. A recharge will now, in some cases, be very expensive for subscribers or non-subscribers based in Paris.
This is bad news for Parisians who own an electric vehicle. At a time when Tesla is increasing the price of its Superchargers (with a rate for peak hours and off-peak hours), the Parisian charging network Belib’ has just announced a sharp increase in its pricesin application since January 2, 2023.
Charging your electric car is more expensive in Paris: what’s going on?
By press release, the Paris charging network Belib’ announces that it has increased its rates and applied a new pricing policy due to the general increase in the cost of electricity. In other words, all users of Belib’ terminals in Paris will see the amount of their bill increase for a recharge.
From now on, four formulas are proposed to you: Moto, Flex, Boost and Boost+, delivering respective load powers of 3.7 kW, 7 kW, 22 kW and 50 kW, as a visitor or as a choice of subscription. Without a Bélib’ subscription, the Moto (3.7 kW) and Flex (7 kW) terminals are priced according to kWh and parking time, Boost and Boost+ at hourly rates.
Resident subscribers are eligible for a subscription at 7 € per year, with a kWh ranging from 0.30 to 0.55 euro. This formula also allows you to benefit from advantageous pricing during off-peak hours from 11 p.m. to 8 a.m. and night pricing during peak hours from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. Non-resident subscribers may also be entitled to more advantageous rates, but overall, a refill will now be expensive for all users of Bélib’ terminals.
Bélib’ is not the only service to increase its costs. Amazon has inflated the price of its Prime subscription, Apple the prices on all its products, the PS5 has increased by 50 euros or even the Meta Quest 2 is now sold 100 euros more. That’s not all, since Orange also increased the price of all its subscriptions.
