Although the 5 Star weapons of Genshin Impact are the strongest, not all players have the luck or funds to unlock them all. Therefore, it is often necessary to fall back on 4 Star weapons that can enhance the characteristics of a character and, among these, one of the most popular is certainly the Deathmatches (in Italian Spear of the Duel).
What is the Duel Spear

“A sharp purple spear, once a gladiator’s priceless treasure. Its tip is
stained with the blood of countless beasts and humans.”
This is instead the effect of Gladiatori.e. the special feature of this spear at the Initial Rank:
“If there are at least 2 opponents nearby, ATK and Def are increased by 16%. If there are fewer than 2 opponents nearby, ATK is increased by 24%.”
By upgrading the weapon via infusion (i.e. by combining several Duel Lances), both buffs can be progressively improved, so as to increase the percentage of attack and defense when the requirements for their activation are met. To the Grade 5which is the maximum that can be reached by infusion, it is possible to bring the first enhancement to 32% and the second to 48%or a substantial increase in damage especially when there are very few hostile creatures in the surrounding area (a bonus that therefore makes the weapon perfect against bosses).
How to unlock the Duel Spear
Unlike other weapons, the Dueling Spear cannot be obtained for free by completing event activities and is not part of any banner, temporary or permanent. The spear in question is one of the bonuses of the Battle Passes of Genshin Impact, the functioning of which is rather particular. Each season of free to play always offers the same 4 Star weapons: upon reaching the Level 30, owners of the paid version of the pass can unlock a chest and choose which one to unlock from the available weapons. One of these weapons is precisely the Duel spear, which it can therefore only be obtained once per season.
