MIAMI.- After experiencing three successful seasons in 2019, In life there are lovesthe bolero-opera by the Venezuelan journalist and writer, Csar Miguel Rondn, starring Lena Burke and Rafael Pollo Brito, returns to the stage of the Colony Theater in Miami Beachwith performances until June 23.

Narrated live by César Miguel Rondn himself, the staging scene It tells a story of love and heartbreak, like so many that exist in everyday life, but told to the rhythm of boleros of all time. The repertoire includes around thirty classics performed by Burke and Brito, accompanied by a live quartet of world-class musicians directed by Hctor Molina.

Its author says that he was inspired by the lyrics of Unforgettablethe bolero written by the Cuban musician and composer Julio Gutirrez in 1944.

After so many years enjoying this genre, I realized that people could talk to each other through songs or, rather, that boleros said what people wanted in critical circumstances,” said Rondón.

Starring Lena Burke, the renowned Cuban singer-songwriter and Latin Grammy winner, who comes from the best Cuban bolero tradition; and Rafael Pollo Brito, one of the most versatile and admired Venezuelan musicians of his generation, En la vida hay amores is a show that guarantees moments full of love, masterful interpretations and laughter, under the guiding thread of Cesar Miguel Rondn.

“The play premiered in 2019, it was interrupted by the pandemic and the three of us had not met again. Now it starts again and we will be there for the entire month of June, with performances from Thursday to Sunday, commented Lena Burke in an interview with DIARIO THE AMERICAS.

It’s a bolero pear. And everything is said in songs, very nice, with a live quartet. Pollo Brito and I are the couple in the play and the maestro Csar Miguel Rondn narrates the story, which is about everything that happens in a couple, first the sadness due to separation, then comes the reconciliation. He arrives drunk and she throws the cauldrons at him. I am the tragic one and he is the comedian, very original, apart from the fact that he is a tremendous singer, the singer added about the story that the musical intertwines.

Directed by Juan Souki, the staging incorporates as its main element a box that manages to transform into a bed, a cabaret table, and even a subway car. All as a great metaphor for what life as a couple entails and the processes of breakup and reconciliation.

In life there are loves It evokes those loves and passions of the past and present, which are part of anyone’s history. And no matter what circumstance a couple goes through, you can always hear a bolero that shakes and is capable of expressing what, without music, cannot be said.
