Ricardo Estigarribia takes command as governor of Central

President Santiago Peña has already used the pen and signed his first decrees as national president. The documents correspond to the appointments of the ministers of his cabinet, advisers and directors of the binationals.

The first decrees issued were those of Enrique Riera as Minister of the Interior, Lea Giménez as Secretary General and Head of the Civil Cabinet of the Presidency and Jorge Capello as private secretary.

Other decrees were the one that appoints José Alberto Alderete as political adviser to the Presidency already Roberto Moreno Rodríguez as legal adviser. Also officially designated Marianna Saldívar Gadea will be in charge of the Management Unit of the Presidency.

Peña also signed the designation documents for Mario Ochippinti as president of the National Development Bank (BNF) and Marco Aurelio González as the new Attorney General of the Republic.

It was also made official interim director Juan Agustín Encina, in the National Directorate of Public Contracts (DNCP), awaiting the opposition competition provided for in the law for his confirmation in office.

Regarding binational entities, In Itaipu, the appointments of Justo Zacarías as general director, Paraguayan side, accompanied by Rafael Lara Valenzuela as financial director, Iris Magnolia Mendoza Balmaceda as legal director, Julio Rodrigo Paredes Duarte as coordination director, Justino Caballero as administrative director and Hugo Zárate Chávez as technical director.

As Director of the Yacyretá Binational Entity (EBY), Luis Federico Benítez Cuevas was appointed.

It is worth mentioning that all these designations in the binationals are interim until the Chamber of Senators renders its constitutional agreement.

Other decrees correspond to the nominations of Liliana Alcaraz as the new minister of the Secretariat for the Prevention of Money Laundering (Seprelad); César Ramírez as Minister of the Sports Secretariat (SND) and Florencia Taboada Evreinoff as Minister of the Youth Secretariat (SNJ).

On the other hand, the decrees of officialization of the other ministers of the Executive Branch, previously announced by Peña and who were sworn in this Tuesday before the new president of the Republic, were finalized.
