The Superbowl halftime concert, which has already been attended by the world’s biggest stars, is one of the highlights of the most watched event on television each year in the United States.

During the Superbowl halftime this Sunday live from State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, Rihanna made her comeback by performing her first concert since 2016. And what a comeback! The singer with nine Grammys, the equivalent of the Oscars of music in the United States, took the stage at the most watched event on television every year across the Atlantic.

In an impressive scenography, Rihanna performed her classics in front of a cheering crowd (Run this town, All of the lights, Pour it up, Only Girl (In the World), Diamonds).

One of the most important stages in the world

Four years after refusing to perform at the super-bowl Rihanna therefore finally gave voice to it this Sunday in order to “represent black women” during the halftime show.

“The Super Bowl is one of the most important stages in the world. As scary as it can be, having not been on stage in seven years, there is something exhilarating about this challenge”, she explained during a presentation to the media on Thursday.

“It’s important for me to do this this year. It’s important for a question of representation. It’s important that my son sees this,” she said.
