Paramount Pictures also announced that the singer will be composing an exclusive track for the film, due in US theaters in February 2025.

After signing the film’s soundtrack Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Rihanna will be back at the cinema. The superstar will lend his voice to the character of Smurfette in the next animated film The Smurfs.

Paramount Pictures announced the news Thursday during a presentation at CinemaCon in Las Vegas. The American production company also revealed that the singer will produce an exclusive track for the film and will also be the producer of the project.

“Doing animation is a fun experience for me. Usually I’m front and center when it comes to my image…but this was fun, I got to show off in my pajamas during my third trimester, and being a blue badass,” Rihanna said during the presentation.

Released in February 2025

Co-directed by Chris Miller and Matt Landon, the film The Smurfs is due in US theaters on February 14, 2025.

After The Smurfs (2011) with Neil Patrick Harris, The Smurfs 2 (2013) et The Smurfs: The Lost Village (2017), this is the fourth film adaptation of the famous Belgian comic strip created by Peyo in 1958. Before Rihanna, singers Katy Perry and Demi Lovato also played the role of Smurfette.
